How everything started
Anyone with land can host a cabin — but not everyone should. At SiSa Projects, we believe hosts make or break the guest experience, especially when units are remote and self-managed. Here’s what we look for in a great host:
1. Reliable communication
Guests may have questions — before arrival, during their stay, or even months later. Hosts who respond quickly and clearly are always rated higher.
2. Basic maintenance mindset
You don’t need to be a plumber or electrician, but you do need to know when something’s off — and how to escalate it fast.
3. A sense of place
The best hosts are proud of their location. They offer a personal touch, a bit of history, or simple tips that turn a stay into a memory.
4. Willingness to learn
Modular systems include solar, greywater, composting toilets and more. Good hosts engage with these systems and see their value.
5. Care
It sounds soft, but it matters. The best hosts genuinely care that guests enjoy themselves — and it shows in the reviews.
